About Me

In 2015, I earned a masters degree in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Kentucky and am  fully licensed by the state of Kentucky and Virginia licensure boards.  Prior to graduate school, I worked with couples in a ministry setting for 10 years and with at-risk teens in inner city St. Louis on being sexually responsible. While in graduate school, I had the opportunity to work with middle and high schoolers and found that involving their parents in therapy, usually resulted in greater improvement in the teens I was seeing as well as their communication and relationship with their parents.

I consider myself to be an eclectic therapist that blends solution focused, emotionally focused, and cognitive behavioral therapy together to best meet the needs of my clients.  My style as a therapist is laid back, patient, and warm, with a touch of firmness when needed.  In particular, I get the most fulfillment in helping couples rediscover the excitement and spark in the marriages that the challenges of life can often dampen.

I am a member of KAMFT (Kentucky Association of Marriage and Family Therapist) and of AAMFT (The American Association Marriage and Family Therapy).  In my spare time, I enjoy running, biking, golf, DIY projects, and spending as much time as I can with my wife and two children.
